Galle is the capital city of the southern province in Sri Lanka, and its main attraction is the Galle Fort. This fort was built a long time ago during the Dutch colonial period, between 1649 and 17. It’s really strong and well-kept, and that’s why it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Galle also has other cool places like the natural harbor, the National Maritime Museum, and St. Mary’s Cathedral, which was started by Jesuit priests.

The Galle International Stadium is famous for being one of the prettiest sports fields in the world. Another cool thing about Galle is Rumassala, a beautiful mountain near Unawatuna beach. It’s covered in different kinds of plants, some of which are used for medicine. Unawatuna itself is a great place for nature lovers because it’s full of different kinds of plants and animals.

Underneath the water near Unawatuna, there’s a whole other world to explore. You can see coral reefs, old sunken ships, and lots of different kinds of fish and turtles. Sometimes, you can even watch turtles laying their eggs on the beach, which is really special. If you like shopping and taking pictures, you’ll love visiting the Galle Fort. It’s a mix of old and new, with lots of interesting things to see and do.
